CEAO is an affiliate of the College English Association (CEA).  The CEA serves teacher-scholars of English.  The organization welcomes those interested in all areas of literature, culture, creative writing, rhetoric and composition, pedagogy and advising. All constituencies from all walks of academic life are represented and welcomed. The CEA conference is held annually in the spring, and members share scholarship and ideas in The CEA Critic and The CEA Forum (an online publication)

CEA welcomes members of regional affiliates and encourages us to submit papers and panels that have been successfully presented at our fall or spring meetings.  We urge CEAO members to consider joining College English Association.  The CEA serves teacher-scholars of English in many important ways. This vibrant organization provides a meeting ground for those interested in all areas of literature, culture, creative writing, rhetoric and composition, pedagogy and advising. All constituencies from all walks of academic life are represented and welcomed. Members come together annually for exciting conferences on the both the national and local affiliate level, and share new scholarship and ideas in The CEA Critic and The CEA Forum.

MLA Panels

As an affiliate-organization of the MLA, CEA sponsors two panels at the annual MLA convention.  Please send your proposed topic in the form of a cfp to Ed Demerly, Second Vice-President, at:  or FAX (313)-317-1557.

Note to Graduate Students

Graduate students may compete for the CEA Best Papers Award, which carries a small prize. Information on how to submit that paper will be sent to accepted panelists after the membership deadline.

Graduate students are asked to identify themselves in their proposals so that we might send information about the Best Paper Award when it is available.
