OCTELA, the Ohio Council of Teachers of English Language Arts, has assumed a leadership role in education reform in Ohio and affirms Ohio’s teachers through professional development opportunities and practical teaching ideas and tools, and provides current information about changes in policy, practice, and pedagogy that directly affect each of us in the classroom.
OCTELA promotes excellence in teaching English Language Arts kindergarten through college by hosting two conferences a year and publishing of OJELA, the peer reviewed Ohio Journal of English Language Arts.
Annual OCTELA membership dues are $35.00 for professionals and $12.00 for students and entitle members to discounted conference rates and three publications: OCTELA Newsletter, Ohio Teachers Write, and OJELA. For more information, check out OCTELA’s website at www.octela.org
